The "quick we've just moved in and don't have photo frames" pattern

OK, so a few months ago we moved into a new flat and the walls were bare. What was supposed to be a very quick and temporary solution has remained up on the walls till now so I thought I'd share it in the hopes it might be useful for others too.

Materials:

5mm crochet hook

Any DK/8 ply yarn, I used some spare cotton for these.

Notes:

The stitches in this pattern are in UK terminology.

Pattern:

Row 1: Chain 56 and join with a slip stitch, careful not to twist the chain on joining.

Row 2: Chain 2, then treble into every other stitch till the end of the row and slip stitch to join the end of the row.

Finishing:
Tie in ends and fit around the postcard by putting each corner between the treble stitches.

Next, measure out the length of yarn you'd like it to hang from.

Tie it to the second and the second-to-last treble side of the top edge corners.

That's all there is! You can do the same with portrait postcards, I've found the initial 56 chains will fit the average postcard but definitely increase or decrease this to get a snug fit.

Thanks for checking this out!
